Keurig 2.0 Review

photo(8)I was extremely excited to get this from Influenster to try out! Really this seemed like the dream campaign to be apart of. I anxiously awaited it to hit my doorstep for days. When it finally arrived I packed up my old Keurig and happily replaced it with the 2.0 I received.

I set it up and really – the machine is beautiful. Really sleek and nice shiny greys. It really looks nice sitting on the counter – matches great with stainless steel appliances. Really high tech and nice looking.

It was very easy to set up and use (outside of the water filer – I needed the boyfriend’s strength to separate the two pieces in the filter) Filling up the water was a messy process since the container does not remove like my previous machine. I was forced to fill up cup after cup and load the water that way….and it was a bit splashy/messy.
I was pleased to also receive a sample pack of KCups to use. I brewed one right away and tried out the new touch screen. Very simple and easy to use touch screen. I was a tad disappointed by the sizes available – only 8 and 10 ounces? I do 12 and 16 ounces mostly with my old machine.

Overall – great coffee quality – nothing different there. My main gripe? That now you can ONLY use KCups that have been specially formatted for Keurig. I have a stock pile of KCups – and I wasn’t about to just let those goes to waste and spend a ton of money on brand new KCups. I don’t want to pigeon hole myself into only buying one brand of KCups. So overall I finished all of the sample pack and then started using my old Keurig system again.

Overall I really loved the machine – everything about it was great – but I just can’t foresee myself using it again until I use up my stock pile of already bought KCups. Maybe when that is depleted I will make a point of buying the new KCups. Otherwise it is really only good if you need a pot of coffee since that is a new feature my old Keurig cannot do.

*I received this product for free from Influenster for testing purposes.
